The tournament in Montreal was very exciting! Mostly because of the trip down, we got stuck in downtown Montreal and got directions from someone we dubbed Senior Nub. We're lost, asking for directions to get back onto the highway and how to find out exit, and he's trying to show up Montreal's bus system.

But the showing was really good, especially for a first time. 30 some people raised about 500 some dollars for prostate cancer research. Not bad for a Saturday. Even better was the fact that a friend, Mark Armitage, won the event. Woo Hoo!

Today is my last day mixing two images together. I know technically I have one more day I should be mixing them, but I am going to Montreal for the day tomorrow. I'd much rather take a picture of the nerds there unadulterated there mixing some. Plus, this week felt more like playing in photoshop than it did taking pictures. I got some neat effects out of it, but I think I am done.

A bit of a fail on the picture today. In theory it was supposed to look like the sky is and the water on one. I kinda got it? Kinda didn't. Not terribly happy. It's something I might try again at a later date.

With today we now only have 100 days left in 2010! Wow, the year has gone by fast. I figured I would be able to keep up with this blog as long as I made it to picture 100. Now, here I am with only 100 pictures left to take. It's made me start to wonder what I am going to do once I am done this year. Am I going to keep up with the blog? Am I going to take a picture every single day? Maybe I'll only take a couple a week? Who knows. I have 100 days to decide.

Not doing so well. Got rather sick, wasn't able to really keep up with anything. Hopefully this will straighten itself out. The next couple of days were all posted late because I wasn't able to focus or really function. Went to class, came home, slept. That was pretty much my schedule. Of course the week I decided to try something new and different ended up being the week where I got sick.

Today the two pictures I decided to mix together were joined by a theme. First, a purposely out of focus picture of Algonquin College students going into the college. I'm a big fan of out of focus pictures were everything just seem to be circles. Then a shot of the sign outside of the college. I'm not too happy with the outcome, but I like the neat mix of colours the students give the sign.

I am going to be playing this week with mixing layers of different pictures together to make something entirely different. I can't promise it's going to come out very well, but that's something I want to play with more. We'll see how this all works out in the end. Regardless, I should get a better idea how to use that option. I figured it was either this or black and white pictures, but I'll save that for when I have more time.

A quiet day so far. I can't believe how tired I was yesterday! Slept in till well beyond what I normally sleep. But that's okay. I'll be sure to stay out extra late, you know, just to balance things out. It works that way, right?

Today we went to the horticulture program at Algonquin College for my Math and Sciences for Young Children class. The idea was to just explore the area, think about what we enjoyed and what attracts us there. The idea being the activity being there is a lot of science there, and stuff we can learn first hand without the teacher coming with us and saying "okay, now we're going to talk about fish and squirrels and bees and trees and cats". So, here are the things that caught my eye today.

A cold, wet and rainy day. And means a lot coming from me who loves cold, wet and rainy days. A good day though. Started a new night class, worked the community outreach playgroup thing in the morning, worked in the kindergarten room in the afternoon, picked up about 2 weeks worth of shifts for November/December at the daycare. A productive day, despite the cold and wet and rainy.
