Getting noticebly warmer today, I'm rather excited. Though I will admit, winter didn't seem nearly as long this year. I hope this is how the rest of the year is going to go, I'm done with snow.

Today has been so slow. I've been feeling so very tired, that I haven't gotten as much work done as I hoped I would. I woke up late, stayed up for a while, and then crawled back into bed for a little while. I'm not worried about having all of my paperwork ready for Monday, I just was hoping to finish all of it today instead of doing it over today and tomorrow.

Today would have been my last day of placement, but it wasn't. I was sick one day, so I will be there on Monday. It will be sad to leave, especially now that I really find for the last week and half or so really getting into the groove of things. Also, I'm going to miss the kids, like I always do. I still know all the names of the kids from my first placement.


And holy poop, would the weather please even out. The last two days have been nothing but slush and snow and rain.

Today was Cowboy Day at school. For the low low price of two dollars everyone was able come to school dressed as a cowboy.

Today was wet. All the kids had wet socks, wet mittens, wet boots, wet coats, wet everything. It rained and it snowed, then it snowed then it rained. Apparently the rest of the week will be like this, I'm jumping for joy.

Last week we had a lot of warm weather. Warm enough that I went a couple days without my coat. I was really hoping that the weather was changing for good. I should have known better. Sadly, the snow seems to have come back, and it's gotten just a little bit colder.

Starting my last full week with the kindergartens. I'm going to miss being there, but I will sort of like having some downtime.

My parents got back from Cuba today. They had a good time. What's more important is that I had a nice day where I could relax.

I like cooking. I'm one of those weird people who really likes doing it. I very much like the idea that I can take something here, as held up by my lovely assistant, and turn it into something different.




Of course, it isn't right from pepper to stir fry. There are a few other steps, and a few other things involved too. Sadly, it can't be that easy.

Today was Family Day. Probably one of the worst conceived holidays I've ever heard of. You get time to spend with your family (assuming you work for either the city or the province) but nowhere is actually open for you to go spend time with them... Also, if you don't work for the province of city, good luck with those kids who now need a babysitter/daycare! Oops, too bad the daycares are closed too.

I slept a good portion of today. Yesterday made me so tired, I work up today and just... wanted to fall back to sleep. And I did that. I'm glad I did, I needed the reboot.

Today was one hell of a busy day. I had my mid term this afternoon and spent a good 2-3 hours talking with Issie my supervisor. She feels that once again I am doing a good job, and pointed out strengths that she feels that I have that I was completely unaware that I had. I always like when that happens.



Oh, and we also had a Valentine's Day celebration where the kids made their own cookies. I brought in sugar cookies (which I didn't make but was planning to and epic failed last night), chocolate icing, vanilla icing, chocolate sprinkles, little candy star sprinkles, little chocolate hearts and little gummy hearts. Using these, I helped each one of the kids make their own cookie for a snack today. As you can see from the two pictures I am posting up today, it went really well. But man, am I tired.

Everything is looking good for tomorrow so far. Doing a special Valentines Day activity with the kids, have a special snack, and it's my midterm evaluation for my placement. Sounds like big fun, doesn't it?

Every since the parents left, the dogs have been moping. As soon as the two of them go anywhere, the dogs just mope and act as though the bottom has fallen out of their world. Even though we don't treat them any different, they just lose themselves.

The kids are getting excited for Valentines day, especially since they have been doing Valentines day stuff all week, such as painting pictures, making crafts, and singing brand new songs.

It's probably comforting to my parents for them to know that while they're gone on vacation, I maintain my usual level of cooking.

Went to the museum of nature today. I love that place, except the jury is still out on whether I like the new set up to the place after all the construction.

Today we made an ice castle. Some water, a little bit of food colouring, a bunch of plastic containers and no less than 2 freezers, and you have an activity that the kids completely and totally enjoyed. Who wouldn't love playing around with colourful ice?

Is it Friday yet? I wish it was Friday, I've been in a bit of a snit all day and I'm not too sure why.

Today I got to see baby gamers in action. The kids were learning how to play a board game. It's actually very good for social development, since they need to learn to take turns, that they won't always be winning, and that sometimes they lose. It was pretty easy to see which ones had rolled a pair of dice before and which hadn't.

It was also easy to tell which kids always won the game when they played with mommy and daddy.

Today was one of those days when I was tired all day, and everything seemed far too long. Because of that, you have a lame picture of the Shephard's Pie that I made for dinner. Tomorrow I'll do a better picture.

For now I'll supply an extra bonus picture to make up for the lameness of today.
